I’m looking for a traditional Moroccan harira recipe, the one commonly served during Ramadan. Does anyone have a family recipe they can share?

Here’s a simple harira recipe: sauté onions, celery, and tomatoes, then add lentils, chickpeas, and spices like cumin and cinnamon. Simmer until thick and serve with lemon.

My family’s harira recipe uses lamb as the base, with tomatoes, lentils, chickpeas, and a dash of cinnamon. We finish it off with a handful of fresh cilantro.

In our family, harira is made with chickpeas, lentils, tomatoes, and a mix of warm spices like ginger and saffron. It’s served with dates during Ramadan.
