I don’t have a traditional clay tagine pot, but I still want to make tagine at home. What kind of pot should I use?

If you don’t have a clay tagine, a heavy-bottomed Dutch oven works well. It retains heat and moisture, similar to the clay pot, and will give you great results.

A cast-iron pot or a Dutch oven is a good substitute for a clay tagine. Just make sure to cook your tagine slowly and on low heat to mimic the traditional method.

You can use a regular saucepan or a Dutch oven as a substitute for a tagine pot. Just cook on low heat and keep the lid on to trap moisture, replicating the slow-cooking process.
