I’ve been wanting to try making a Moroccan tagine at home, but I don’t have a traditional tajine pot. Can I still make it with regular cookware?

You can definitely make a tagine in a regular pot or Dutch oven. While a traditional tajine pot helps with the slow cooking and steam circulation, the key is to cook at low heat and allow the flavors to develop.

A heavy-bottomed Dutch oven works perfectly for making a tagine. Just make sure to keep the heat low and cook it slowly so the ingredients can meld together.

If you don’t have a tajine pot, using a slow cooker or a heavy casserole dish also works well. The important thing is to keep the lid on tight to trap the steam and maintain moisture.
