I want to make traditional Moroccan harira, but I’m not sure if I need a specific pot. Can I use a regular one?

You can make harira in any large pot, but a heavy-bottomed pot works best for even heat distribution and to prevent the soup from sticking to the bottom.

A pressure cooker is often used in Morocco to speed up the cooking time for harira. But if you don’t have one, a regular pot will work—just be prepared for a longer simmer.

While no special pot is required, using a heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven helps maintain even heat while simmering the soup. This prevents burning and keeps the flavors well-balanced.
