I want to start making my own Moroccan spice blends at home. Do I need a special grinder, or will my regular kitchen tools work?

A regular spice grinder or coffee grinder will work just fine. Just make sure it’s clean and only used for spices to avoid any flavor contamination.

If you want to go traditional, you could use a mortar and pestle, but it’s more time-consuming. A standard electric spice grinder is a quicker option for fine, consistent blends.

You can use a blender in a pinch, but a dedicated spice grinder will give you the best results, especially for making fine blends like ras el hanout.
