I’m a huge fan of Moroccan pastries and desserts and want to visit a city where I can indulge in traditional sweets. Where should I go to find the best selection?

Fez is well-known for its traditional Moroccan sweets, especially almond-based pastries like ghriba and kaab el ghzal (gazelle horns). You’ll find a wide selection in the city’s souks.

Marrakech has a great variety of Moroccan sweets too. The street vendors around Jemaa el-Fnaa square sell all sorts of honey-drenched treats like chebakia and sellou, especially during Ramadan.

Don’t miss Meknes! This city offers amazing local desserts, including fakkas and harsha, a type of semolina bread that’s delicious with honey.

Rabat is also a good destination for sweet lovers. The bakeries there have a wide selection of both traditional and modern Moroccan desserts, making it a great stop for tourists with a sweet tooth.
