Bissara is made by simmering dried fava beans until soft, then blending them with garlic, olive oil, and cumin. Serve it with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of paprika.

To make bissara, cook fava beans until tender, then blend them with garlic, cumin, and olive oil. Top it with a dash of paprika and a generous drizzle of olive oil.

Simmer the fava beans with garlic and olive oil until they’re soft, then mash them into a smooth puree. Add cumin, salt, and a little chili powder for heat, and serve with bread.
