I’m heading to Marrakech for the first time and want to try the best local street foods. What are some of the must-try dishes, and where can I find them?

You can’t miss out on msemen, a flaky, layered Moroccan pancake, usually served with honey or jam. You’ll find vendors making it fresh in Jemaa el-Fnaa square.

Try kefta brochettes (grilled minced meat skewers). They’re seasoned with Moroccan spices and grilled over charcoal for a smoky flavor. They’re available all around the medina.

If you’re feeling adventurous, sample snail soup (babbouche). This hot, spicy broth with snails is a local favorite, and you’ll find vendors selling it in the square after sunset.

Another must-try is ma’akouda, crispy potato fritters that are simple but delicious. They’re a popular street snack and can be found in small stalls around the city.
