I’ve heard so much about Moroccan mint tea and would love to make it at home. What’s the traditional way to prepare this iconic drink?

The key to making authentic Moroccan mint tea is using Chinese gunpowder green tea as a base. Add a handful of fresh mint and lots of sugar before brewing.

After adding boiling water to the tea and mint, let it steep for a few minutes. Then, pour the tea into a glass and back into the pot several times to mix the ingredients and create a frothy top.

For a stronger mint flavor, crush some mint leaves before adding them to the pot. This releases more of the oils and intensifies the aroma.

Serve the tea in small glasses and pour it from a height to create a frothy head. It’s a traditional technique that makes the tea look and taste even better.
