Harira is a beloved soup during Ramadan, but I’m always experimenting with new ingredients. What are some creative twists or variations that you’ve tried?

I love adding sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes for a slightly sweeter version of harira. It complements the chickpeas and lentils well and adds a creamy texture.

For a richer flavor, I sometimes use lamb stock instead of beef or chicken stock. The lamb adds a depth of flavor that makes the soup heartier and more satisfying.

A sprinkle of fresh cilantro and mint right before serving gives harira a burst of freshness. I also add a few drops of lemon juice to brighten up the flavors.

For a vegetarian version, I replace the meat with diced zucchini and carrots. They cook down nicely in the broth, and I add extra spices like turmeric and ginger to enhance the flavor.
